As Open Enrollment is about to begin, there will be many important benefits to review and consider. However, this is also a good time to review your 401k allocation and 401k contributions. Have you increased your contributions yet this year? Remember, we recommend that you try to increase your contributions by at least 1% each year until you hit your max. Also, pay attention to WHERE you are making your contributions. Are you in the Traditional Pre-Tax or the ROTH (or a combination of both)? We find far too many Teammates are underutilizing the ROTH and missing out on a major tax benefit in retirement! Don’t turn a blind eye to your 401k.
